Bowling at the highest level is about consistency, but not predictability.
Know your strengths/skills - pace, swing, seam movement, accuracy, spin etc. Build on these strengths and develop a stock ball that will consistently test the batter. As you move higher up the levels you may well need to add to these strengths/skills.Â
Build a repeatable safe action - use a bowling coach to assess the safety of your action. Build strength in your action through consistency and repetition. Use strength and conditioning to build a programme to cover strength, fitness, flexibility and recovery.
Have a plan - taking wickets, drying up runs, attacking or defending. Ensure you have fields settings for different batters, surfaces, periods of the game. But be adaptable, situations change so must you.
